Native to the northern end of Canada, desert areas of North America and South America and Central America, Mexico and West of the West Indies islands, found at an altitude of 3,700 meters above sea level. Many of them like water.
Nopal cactus is a one of plant species in the desert.
The cactus is standing even in the barren desert without dying, because rarely have a lot of rain. It will store a lot of water in the trunk for take in a long dry period and it will change its leaf to thorn in order to minimize dehydration. This it can be in the desert. Nopal cactus plants that tolerate heat and drought well, more common in the desert. The trunk is covered with thorns, which special effects of it are based on national origin.
